MHSSC freeride snowboard camp is open to every skill level of snowboarder from intermediate on up to expert level.

Each day our snowboard coaches spend time freeriding on the groomed slopes as well as spending time working on jibbing and jumping skills. During your session, our coaches will help you to improve your snowboarding by teaching you the solid fundamentals and correct technique so you can learn to ride with the skill and style you want.

Mt Hood in the Summer
  • 11,249 foot Mt. Hood has the longest season of any ski area in North America.
  • Training takes place on the Palmer Snowfield as well as on the Magic Mile chairlift runs in the early summer.
  • With two express quad chairs and 2500' vertical, you have the opportunity to get in a lot of quality training in a short period of time.
Freestyle Training Center
  • These terrain facilities will include a halfpipe spine airbag, progressive jump and transition features, rail and jib features of all shapes and sizes including top-level rail features.
  • In the early morning hours, when the snow might be a little icy, training on on that firm snow helps teach you proper stance, balance, and carving skills, which all relate to what you do in the terrain park.
  • As the snow softens, we head to the terrain park for the best freestyle training conditions.

Starting in Summer 2026, we'll be lodging at the "Mazama Lodge". This lodge is operated by The Mazamas, a nonprofit mountaineering organization, and is situated near Government Camp in the Mt. Hood area.The Mazama Lodge is bunk-style and can accommodate about 70 people in a combination of large and small bunk rooms.

Adult campers must provide their own lodging, with the exception of the "Adults Only" Session at the end of the summer. For the Adults-Only session, you can lodge with us or provide your own.

Getting There

If you are arriving by airplane (Portland International Airport), find more information here.

Yes, typically pick-up and drop-off is included in the camp price. Our camp counselors pick up kids at the Portland airport between 10:00am and 2:00pm on each arrival day. Typical dropoff at the Portland airport is between 8am and 2pm. There are additional fees if you arrive or depart from the Portland airport outside the camp pick-up or drop-off times.

  • Adults can come to camp any of our available sessions, but they must provide their own lodging.

  • We keep 75% of your balance if you cancel within 30 days of your session and 100% of your balance if you cancel within 7 days of the start of your session.
  • Snowboard campers are only offered sessions 3 thru 8.
  • We no longer offer Snowboard Racing Camps.
