Information you provide
We receive personal information only when you choose to contact us. If you email hello@powderscape.com, we may retain your message and email address so we can respond and maintain a record of any correction, update, or removal request.
Trip listings send you to the trip company's own website. Powderscape does not collect inquiry details through those listings.
Analytics
Powderscape uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use trip listings, filters, and other parts of the site. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier. These cookies help distinguish browsers and recognize return visits.
Analytics may process information such as the pages you view, how you interact with the site, the website that referred you, your device and browser type, and an approximate geographic location derived from your IP address. Google processes this information on our behalf. You can learn more in Google's Privacy Policy.
Google's advertising features are disabled for Powderscape. We do not connect Analytics data with signed-in Google profiles or use it to personalize advertising. Powderscape does not display advertising, sell personal information, or participate in advertising or cross-site tracking networks. Analytics is not loaded on our internal administrative pages.
You can opt out of Analytics by blocking cookies for Powderscape in your browser or installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Powderscape will continue to work normally because none of its features depend on analytics cookies.
Hosting and server logs
Powderscape is hosted through Cloudflare. To deliver the site, manage traffic, maintain security, and prevent abuse, Cloudflare processes standard request information such as your IP address, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent information.
We do not use server-log information to create profiles about individual visitors. You can learn more about how Cloudflare handles information in Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Content provided by other services
Some images displayed on Powderscape are delivered from third-party servers. When your browser requests an image, the server providing it receives standard technical information, which may include your IP address and browser details.
Country flags are provided through jsDelivr, a public content-delivery network. Trip photographs are loaded from the relevant trip company's website rather than stored on Powderscape's servers. We configure these image requests not to include referrer information, so the trip company does not receive the address of the Powderscape page you are viewing.
Our typefaces are served from the Powderscape domain. Currency conversion rates are retrieved by our server rather than directly by your browser. Neither feature causes your browser to contact an additional third party.
Information stored in your browser
Your light or dark theme preference is stored locally in your browser under powderscape-theme. This preference remains on your device and is not sent to Powderscape. You can remove it by clearing the site data stored in your browser.
Your favorites and packing lists are also saved in the browser you use, including your list names, notes, and packing progress. They do not sync between devices. You can delete them on the site or clear your browser's site data to remove them. We cannot recover deleted lists.
Opening Favorites tells Powderscape which trips to load. Your packing lists and notes stay in your browser and are not uploaded to us.
Sharing trips and packing lists
Anyone with a comparison link can see the trips in that comparison. Trip details included in comparison and packing-list links may also be processed by the hosting and analytics services described above.
Packing exports are created in your browser. Check for personal notes before sharing them. Deleting a saved list does not remove copies you have downloaded or shared.
Links to trip companies
Powderscape links to independent trip companies so you can review current details and book directly with them. Their websites have their own privacy practices, cookies, and terms. This Privacy Policy applies only to Powderscape.
Children's privacy
Powderscape is a travel directory intended for adults planning trips. The site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Questions and requests
If you have questions about this policy, want to ask about information associated with an email you sent, or would like us to delete that correspondence, contact us at hello@powderscape.com.
If you represent a listed trip and would like its information corrected, updated, or removed, you may use the same email address. The process is also described on About our listings.
We update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes in a substantive way.
