Information you give us
Only what you choose to send. If you email hello@powderscape.com — to report an error, ask for a listing to be removed, or say hello — we keep that message so we can reply and so we have a record of the correction. Nothing on the site submits your details anywhere: the “Request info” form is a preview and does not send.
Analytics
Powderscape uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which trips and filters people actually use. It sets two cookies in your browser, _ga and one beginning _ga_, which distinguish one browser from another so a returning visit is not counted as a new person. It records the pages you view, the site that referred you, your device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
Google's advertising features are switched off for this property: the measurement data is not joined to signed-in Google profiles and is not used to personalise advertising. Powderscape shows no ads, sells no data, and runs no advertising or cross-site tracking networks. Analytics is not loaded at all on the internal admin pages.
If you would rather not be counted, blocking cookies for this site or installing Google's opt-out browser add-on stops it. Everything on Powderscape works normally either way — no part of the site depends on those cookies.
Hosting and server logs
The site runs on Cloudflare. As with any website, its servers record standard request information — including your IP address, the page requested, and your browser's user agent — to serve pages, absorb traffic spikes, and block abuse. Powderscape does not use those logs to build a profile of you.
What your browser loads from elsewhere
Two things on Powderscape are served by other people's computers, and loading an image always reveals your IP address and browser to whoever serves it. The small country flags come from jsDelivr, a public open source content network. Every trip photograph is loaded from the travel company's own website, because the picture belongs to them and is not copied onto our servers; those requests are sent without a referrer, so an operator cannot see which Powderscape page you were looking at.
Deliberately not on that list: the typefaces are served from this domain rather than a font service, and the currency conversion rates are fetched by our server rather than by your browser, so neither one causes a request from you to a third party.
What stays in your browser
Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage under powderscape-theme. It never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your site data removes it.
Links to travel companies
Powderscape is a directory: most of what you do here ends with you leaving for a travel company's own website to check details or book. Those sites are independent of Powderscape and set their own privacy practices, cookies, and terms. This policy stops at our edge.
Children
Powderscape is a travel directory intended for adults planning trips. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Questions, corrections, and removals
Email hello@powderscape.com with any question about this policy, to ask what we hold about a message you sent, or to ask for it to be deleted. If you operate a listed trip and want the listing corrected or taken down, the same address reaches us and the process is described on About our listings.
If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
