Verbier has a high concentration of easily accessible, fun, steep skiing with plenty of interesting couloirs and steep faces to explore.

It is a friendly resort with a fantastic lift system connecting a huge area of skiing together, allowing us on our camps to cover a huge amount of terrain. It is often less intimidating than other resorts with little need for much rope work to access terrain and less high consequence.

Terrain & Access
  • If you are looking to join us for the first time, Verbier is a great option for your first steep skiing camp and the first introduction to skiing steeper terrain.
  • The camps are designed to accommodate a range of skiers, from those just breaking into the steeps to those with many steep lines under their belt.
Requirements & Groups
  • No matter how experienced or how well you ski, you will learn and be challenged by the camps.
  • As we usually have multiple groups on our camp we split the groups according to ability and fitness.
  • Clients range in age from 16 to 75.
  • You should be able to ski black and double black ski area runs with control and confidence.
  • No ski mountaineering experience is required but if you have experience the camps will build on that experience.
  • You will ski with one guide and up to three other skiers whose ability and fitness are similar to yours.
  • We keep the camp ratio low for safety and for your enjoyment of skiing with skiers of a similar level.
  • The great thing about the venues for these camps is that there is plenty of challenge for every skier at every level.
Coaching & Progression
  • Our guides can provide plenty of challenges for even the most accomplished skiers.

  • Tips for Guides

The camp itinerary is to stay as flexible as possible so that we are always skiing where the skiing is best. There is not a “typical” day for the Steep Camps. Each day is different; each day is a new adventure.

  1. Arrival: SundayThe camp starts with a welcome drink and dinner on Sunday at 6:30 pm. We will talk about the current conditions and our tentative plan for the week. The first ski day is Monday.
  2. Days 1–5: Monday to FridayWe will do an equipment check Monday morning and then head up on the mountain to begin our week of adventure. Our start time will usually be around 8.30 am, where we take the lift from Verbier center that links into the whole 4 valley’s lift system. Endless options and long lift hours allow for full ski days. You will have the option to save your legs for the next day but if you want more, there is always more skiing to be had. After 5 days of phenomenal skiing and mind-blowing descents, we will cap off the week with a celebration dinner on Friday night. Awards are given and stories told!
  3. Departure: SaturdayYou can arrange your departure for Saturday morning.

Touring bindings are useful but optional. Without them, you will usually need to rent suitable skis for at least one day, supplied with skins and ski crampons.
