The best way to chase early season powder.

In the early season, Cat Assisted Ski Touring is the best way to experience the terrain at Mustang Powder. Our cat roads above the lodge are accessible very early in the season, allowing us to drop you off at the start of the day, heading straight into the goods.

Who It Is For
  • This experience is aimed at advanced skiers, but does not require previous backcountry touring experience.
  • You should feel comfortable in powder, variable snow, and steeper mountain environments, and be motivated to grow your skills in a setting that’s both supportive and adventurous.
  • Guests should be fit, and prepared for the uphill travel involved with a ski touring program, but our focus is on the overall experience, including the down.
Big Terrain
  • Mustang’s snowcats open the door to vast alpine terrain, giving you a head start into remote zones that would otherwise take hours to reach.
  • When we have the conditions, we can run a standard cat skiing program, meaning more laps and vertical than expected.

The magnificent timber frame construction of the Mustang Lodge is a work of art. The high elevation of the lodge (1740m / 5700 ft) means that the views from the lounge, dining room and bedrooms are spectacular.

All guests have private bathrooms, with some single bedrooms also available.

Getting There

Mustang Powder Cat Skiing guests will meet our meeting spot 44 km west of Revelstoke or 28 km east of Sicamous.

You will travel to the lodge on the evening prior to the first day of your holiday.

All Mustang Powder guests are flown to and from the lodge via helicopter transfer, weather permitting. The cost is $165.00 CAD each way.

Since helicopter flights are weather-dependent, snowcat transfers will be provided at no cost on no-fly days.

Regional and international airline service is also available to Kelowna International Airport with direct flights from Vancouver, Prince George, Edmonton, Calgary, Seattle, Toronto, and Honolulu.

Skiers will require a ski touring set-up with skins. We have a limited quantity of skis with touring bindings and skins, however, we recommend renting touring skis and gear in Revelstoke or bringing your own.

Snowboarders will need to have a split board, climbing skins, and collapsible poles to participate in this program.

These dates are for groups of six to twelve skiers per cat, and replaces our Classic Cat Skiing program during the early season.
