- These tours will involve around 3-5hrs of skinning per day, achieving around 800 – 1000m of vertical ascent. We would expect you to be able to skin to a pace of 300m of vertical ascent per hour.
- The tour is suitable for intermediate off-piste skiers . You will need some prior touring exeprience, and a good level of ski fitness and a determined approach are required. Days typically involve 600–1000m of ascent and five to eight hours in the mountains. The downhill sections are generally 35 degrees or less, although variable snow conditions should always be expected.

Day by day
Please note the route and daily objectives may vary depending on weather, snow conditions, and group experience.
- Day 1: Travel to San Vito di Cadore, just outside Cortina and meet up in the hotel in the early evening with the guides and the rest of the group for a traditional aperitif: Prosecco and nibbles. The guides will take you through the plans for the week and ensure you have all the necessary kits. Stay overnight in San Vito di Cadore.
- Day 2: We ease ourselves into the week with a warm-up morning using the lift systems around Cortina. One of our preferred options is to catch the bus up to the Passo Falzarago (2105m) and ski tour using the lifts around the world famous Cinque Torri. These freestanding limestone towers provide a spectacular backdrop for the start of the trip. Later in the afternoon, we transfer to the Rifugio Lagazuoi (2752m) by cable car. Pizzo Lagoazoi sports one of the longest Via Ferrata in the Dolomites and was a major front line in first world war. Tunnels and trenches still litter this part of the mountain. Wonderful views in all directions from the terrace at the rifugio!
- Day 3: From the Refugio Lagazuoi we ski down to the Capanna Alpina (1720m) where we put on skins and make the short steep climb to the Col de Locia (2069m). The valley flattens out and gives spectacular views of Monte Cjaval (2912m). We follow the easy-angled valley north to the Rifugio Fanes (2060m) where you spend the night. This rifugio gives a real sense of isolation but as with all huts in the Dolomites, the food and accommodation are exceptional!
- Day 4: From the Rifugio Fanes (2060m) we enjoy one of the most spectacular day ski tours in the region up to Monte Ciastel (2810m) and Bivoac della Pace. This is one of the sub-peaks that make up the Tofana di Rozes, a major rock climbing north face in the Dolomites. We enjoy an awesome descent back down our ascent route before a short skin brings us back to the Rifugio Fanes where we stay for a second night of Italian wine and fine cuisine.
- Day 5: Post breakfast we bid farewell to the Rifugio Fanes and make the sustained skin up to the Forca Ciamin (2395m). We make a ski descent north west past the Rifugio Pederù (1584m). From here the Sennes hut is a couple of hours skin away. Again the Rifugio Sennes is perched in a remote spot but is very comfortable and serves excellent food.
- Day 6: From the Sennes Hut, the best day trip is to Muntejela de Senes, a beautiful summit located west of the hut. It offers great views and a fantastic skiing area. Spend the second night at the Sennes Hut.
- Day 7: We have two options, depending on snow and weather conditions. The first option is an easy day with a short climb of 400 meters, followed by skiing down mostly along a road until Malga Rastua and Podestagno. From Podestagno, you would take a taxi to San Vito. The second option is a more skiable day, involving a climb to Rifugio Biella and skiing down to Lago di Braies. From Lago di Braies, you would take a taxi to San Vito.Check-in the hotel in San Vito di Cadore for the last night.
- Day 8: Departure after breakfast. We will make every endeavour to carry out the above itinerary but alternations may have to be made owing to weather and snow conditions.
