- You can descend green and most blue pistes with confidence and control. Typically 1-2 weeks of experience.
- You have good control on all blue pistes. Red pistes in good condition are possible, but you struggle with ice and moguls. You can do some easy black runs, but they are still quite a challenge. You are able to link your turns and focus on body positioning in increasingly difficult conditions.
- You are confident on any kind of piste in the ski area, but some conditions are still challenging (moguls, ice, powder). You can carve effectively on groomed pistes, however your technique is not so consistent on steep or uneven terrain during challenging snow conditions. You can adjust your technique and mix short and long radius turns when required. You spend time in the side country practicing off piste technique.
- Your experience permits you to adapt your technique according to all situations and you can cover the whole mountain with excellent technique; steep slopes, moguls, different kinds of snow. You can link carving and big turns on any kind of terrain. You are relaxed and comfortable off piste in difficult conditions.
- There are a total of 200km of pistes in the Les Arcs ski area served by 57 lifts.
- With a number of pistes over 2000m there is plenty of snow sure skiing.
- There is a wide variety of pistes for every level, the variety in Les Arcs is one of its biggest selling points.
- This resort is particularly good for intermediate skiers with a superb selection of cruising blues and challenging reds to keep you entertained.

Where you stay

Center distance to town: 15 minutes
Room Capacity: 4 person
Center Capacity: 460
Catered: Full board
The centre
The Les Arcs UCPA centre is located in Les Arcs 1600.
The Les Arcs UCPA is one of the biggest and most impressive centres with a capacity of 460 people. It is located on the piste and could not be more of a ski in ski out centre. The centre has the usual UCPA facilities including 3 dining rooms, 3 separate bars, ski storage rooms and a modern rental room. The centre is 15 minutes walk from town but most people tend to stay on site. The centre has a very friendly and vibrant atmosphere and with its large capacity, restaurants and bars, the après at UCPA Les Arcs is usually a better atmosphere than in town.
Multishare rooms
The shared rooms at Les Arcs are modern and comfortable, all for four people. Bathrooms are shared on each floor.
If you are grouped together on our system, then UCPA will do what they can to room you together (sometimes this isn't possible due to numbers). If your group doesn't fit into one room, then you can email UCPA directly around 2 weeks before travel with your rooming request. Solo travellers are usually roomed with people of similar age, gender and course.
Twin rooms
The two-bed rooms in Les Arcs are in a 'cabin/bunkbed' format (i.e. the two beds are joined as a bunkbed, rather than two separate beds). Toilets and showers are shared in the corridors.
Getting There
By Air:
Whilst Chambery is technically the closest airport to Les Arcs, most customers fly to Geneva due to the greater availability of flights and transfers. You can select a Geneva airport transfer at check out (all prices shown are for a return journey). We do not provide transfers from Chambery.
Airport Transfers:
We provide shared transfers on Saturdays from Geneva to Les Arcs with our local partner Ben's Bus. The journey is 165km and takes around 3h15 but this can vary depending on weather and traffic conditions.
Transfers are scheduled according to flight times. As soon as you have put your flight times in, you can choose your bus time. You will be offered the most appropriate bus according to your flight times (note that, as the buses get booked up, the timings may become less convenient). Like all shared transfers, sometimes there may be a wait of a few hours in the airport for other flights to arrive or to combine passenger journeys for varying flight departure times. The maximum wait time between landing and bus departing is usually two hours, often much less.
