Skill Level: Intermediate to Expert (high-altitude terrain)
Terrain: Glaciers, high-alpine groomers
Technically, Sölden is a marvel of modern mountain engineering. It is the only resort in Austria to unlock three distinct peaks topping 9,842 ft – affectionately known as the "Big 3" – all seamlessly tethered by high-capacity, wind-stable lift networks. You'll carve across two massive, high-velocity glacier zones – the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach – boasting incredibly wide, sustained-pitch fall lines and ultra-consistent snow packs. Rettenbach offers steep, technical terrain that hosts World Cup opening runs, while the Tiefenbach glacier serves up long, sweeping cruisers. Connecting the two is a spectacular 1.7 km ski tunnel bored right through the mountain ridge. The resort delivers a jaw-dropping vertical drop of nearly 6,561 ft.
